Why Choose Red Fern Therapy Group
Therapy works best when it fits your life as well as your needs. Here’s what that looks like at Red Fern Therapy Group:
- First responder and moral injury care: Founder Kate Reid is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, and she leads workshops for first responder groups across Ontario. Many first responders also check in every couple of weeks to stay well through a long career.
- Convenient by design: Evening and Saturday sessions, direct billing for most insurers, and a first appointment that can usually be offered within a couple of days.
- In person or online: Switch between our London clinic, our St. Thomas clinic and online sessions whenever it suits you.

Our Story and Approach to Therapy
Red Fern Therapy Group began with Kate Reid, MSW RSW. After about 15 years in child welfare, including ten in leadership as a clinical supervisor, she set out to build a practice where clients come first and the people doing the work are supported too. We focus on understanding and addressing your unique needs, and our experienced team helps clients build self-awareness and resilience.
That shows in who we bring on. Our therapists are warm, down to earth and straightforward with you. They offer a variety of evidence-based care, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Somatic Processing, the Gottman Method for couples, and trauma treatments like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, so your therapist can use what fits you.
We’re also a teaching practice that fosters the growth and success of psychotherapists in training at the beginning of their careers. Our students are outstanding and receive regular clinical supervision. Services with a student are available at a reduced cost and on a sliding scale. Get to know us.
